The GTHA – A World Class Region

Politicians are often fond of referring to the potential of our cities and our region as being World Class. We agree! This is why the current initiative seems so short-sighted. Diesel locomotion is antiquated. Let’s really be world-class and plan for a region that will grow economically, environmentally and socially with proper planning and investment.

Efforts to call the current project “green” are not magic wands that can wave away all serious analysis of environmental impacts. Let’s make sure this project is truly green. Let’s not be distracted by “shovels in the ground” rhetoric but instead take the time to make this investment the right one; a transit solution that will serve our region for decades to come, rather than serve as an embarrassing example of short-sighted plan.

Now is the time to invest. Now is the time to plan for a healthy, efficient and modern transit solution.
